Radboud University Medical Centre Nijmegen: In this project, we investigated the ICU-environment, which in its current state can be quite deleterious to the patient wellbeing. Especially the lack of normal light exposure as well as the noisy ICU environment are suspected to negatively influence patient outcome. The focus lies on 2 aspects, namely the effect of artificial high-intensity light on delirium and second, the ICU soundscape.
