Current research involves the application and adaptation of multivariate statistics to systems biology: -exploration of gene expression data through advanced dimension reduction techniques (especially multidimensional unfolding). -fusion of different data sources by simultaneous component methods with applications to metabolomics. PhD topic: -Degeneracies in multidimensional unfolding: this is a statistical method that maps two sets of points to a low-dimensional space such that the distances reflect the relations between the sets (e.g., preference data: judges are mapped close to the objects they prefer most). See https://repository.libis.kuleuven.be/dspace/handle/1979/132 I also have some experience as a biostatistician working for pharmaceutical companies (clinical trials)
